Iran to screen Dok Leipzig films

TEHRAN, Nov. 03 (MNA) – Iran’s Cinéma Vérité 2015 will screen a number of DOK Leipzig’s selected films in its ‘Mirror of a festival’ section.

Dok Leipzig, one of the oldest documentary festivals of the world takes place every year in Leipzig, Germany.

Founded in 1955 under the name "1st All-German Leipzig Festival of Cultural and Documentary Films", it is an international film festival for documentary and animated film and was the first independent film festival in East Germany.

Iran’s 9th Cinéma Vérité International Film Festival will screen a number of the German event’s selected films namely Suddenly My Thoughts Halt (Portugal, directed by Jorge Pelicano, 2014), Chthonic City (Ukraine, directed by Anita Müller, 2011), Forget Me Not (Germany, David Sieveking, 2012), Toto and His Sisters (Romania, directed by Alexander Nanau, 2014), Rules of the Game (France, directed by Claudine Boriesa and Patrice Chagnard, 2014) as well as Pablo's Winter (Spain and Scotland directed by Chico Pereira, 2012).

Iran’s 9th Cinéma Vérité is slated for 13-19 Dec. 2015 in Tehran’s Palestine and Sepideh cinemas.

Organized by Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), the annual festival tries to express the relationship between reality and truth though documentary films.
